Biography

Stan Lake was an artist, activist, performer, and ceramicist during the 1980s and 1990s, known for detailed and delicate figurative work. Lake was associated with grunt gallery and the Helen Pitt Gallery (now Unit/Pitt), and was friends and collaborator with collector John Lawrence and activist artist Bill Rennie. Notably, Lake and Rennie collaborated in the performance production The Masque of the Red Death by grunt gallery and the Public Dreams Society, curated by Glenn Alteen and overseen by Glenn Lewis.
