Creative Access Description

Black and white portrait oriented image of a Cree woman dancing. She stands with her knees slightly bent and back arched slightly forward, her head leaning slightly back. Her arms extend downward on either side of her body. She is barefoot and wears a dark coloured sleeveless unitard with a low cut neck. Her long dark hair hangs in a number of strands braided together with light coloured ribbons. Additional ribbons are affixed to her body suit. The motion of her dancing blurs the entire photograph giving the image a dynamic feel. Behind her and to the right a conga drum sits on the dark coloured floor, its player barely outlined in the dark shadows against the white gallery wall. The white mat of the photo paper makes a thick border on all sides of the image.
