Marion Barling was one of the founders of Women in Focus (WIF), Vancouver’s original feminist media centre, distributor, and gallery. WIF began as part of the Women’s Office at the University of British Columbia in 1974. Barling was director of WIF until 1984. WIF’s aim was to provide training and tools to women to create positive images of women and validate their life experiences.Adapted from VIVO Media Arts, 2015
