About the Program
Chiasma was a three-day online performance exchange between Sydney, Australia, Vancouver, Canada, and Lancaster, UK that utilized web streaming technology, chat interfaces, and cityscape projections to investigate the potential of virtual exchange and collaboration. Live streams of Léa Donnan's Adult Female, Rebecca Belmore's Tent City, and Hester Reeve's The British Umpire were presented to audiences at Imperial Slacks, grunt gallery, and Folly Gallery, as well as Edge Intermedia (St. John's, Newfoundland), Nuova Icona (Venice, Italy), and Zhaoqing University (Zhaoquing, China). Photography and video documentation in this collection was done at grunt gallery, who later released the project as a CD ROM in 2004.November 20: Lea Donnan
