Creative Access Description
A colour landscape image of a sculptural work taken from the top angled downward towards the cement floors of the gallery space. The sculpture consists of a paper mache base resembling tree branches with stalky golden-brown tendrils that platform three separate gelatin sculptures at different heights. Underneath the sculpture, out of focus, is a collaged fabric mat printed with images of rats and lab equipment. The gelatin sculptures have the shape of a small bell jar with flower petals, syringes, metal chains and limeflower embedded within it. Dried leaves, spindly weed-like plants, possibly a carrot flower, and clusters of white flowers, possibly baby’s breath, border the three murky, yellow-tinted gelatin sculptures. The translucent and slippery quality of the exposed gelatin imbues a sense of ephemerality.~root~>
