About the Program

The second in a series of Sunday panels at grunt gallery exploring notions of performance from the perspective of practitioners and the academy, and the complex relationship the form of performance art has negotiated with institutional representation and critique. The Future of Performance Art asked presenters and attendees to consider the scarcity of written scholarship on performance art, its relationship to other mediums, and its future as a contemporary art practice. Panelists included Rob La Frenais, Kirsten Forkert, Jamie McMurry, and David Yonge, with moderator Aiyyanna Maracle.
