About the Program

The opening reception for Peter Conlin's Freedom, a performative exhibition that ran for for the following two weeks. Conlin used the gallery as a studio to create installations in an improvisational way, setting up several different zones to function as conceptual bases and act as material starting points for work developed during the course of the exhibition: an on-going workshop or idea studio (working through of concepts at the intersection of Marxism and art as poetic labour with Robert Filliou 1970's vocabulary and spirit as a kind of base material from which to work with or remix). Visitors could interact with the artist about aspect of interest, make suggestions, and join in the work. This event and exhibition was presented by Western Front.
