About the Program
The first in a series of Sunday panels at grunt gallery exploring notions of performance from the perspective of practitioners and the academy, and the complex relationship the form of performance art has negotiated with institutional representation and critique. Panelists Kristine Stiles, Jocelyn Robert, and Warren Arcand, with moderator Glenn Alteen and the audience discuss the nature and veracity of performance art documentation, the impulse to document and publish as a function of arts institutions, and the interplay of theory born of intuition and understanding via academic research, among related topics.The LIVE Biennial of Performance Art 2003 panel discussion series included:
