About the Program
Irene Loughlin incorporates states of grasping and hanging from a fire escape in an off-site performance located in a local alley of Canada's poorest postal code. A memorial piece for people who have died in the alley and a testimonial to those who survive against the odds. Music by Gary Steeves. This performance was part of the Fluid Sexuality Series, exploring sexuality that lives beyond constructions of gender, sexual orientation descriptions, role-playing, and societal definitions of the body, beauty, and desire. Definitions of sexuality need not be only limited to the body, but include sexuality as it exists in less tangible forms - independent of human presence or interaction. The Fluid Sexuality Series was curated by Irene Loughlin and Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, and was hosted by Gallery Gachet.~root~>
