About the Program
This event brings a fresh approach and current elements of urban youth culture into the dialogue of spectatorship and performance. The 1990s saw an explosion of technologized culture. Turntablism, music producers/arrangers, video, and multimedia artists increasingly create art and performance through subjective processes of audio-visual collage, sampling, appropriating/recycling, editing, looping, and layering. Notes From the Lab is a unique opportunity to bring new audiences together, introducing club kids and younger audiences to performance art. Organized by Mo-Ling Chui and Winston Xin, the event also featured Jacob Chino, Jeet-Kei Leung, Paul Wong, Chris MacKenzie, Rocket Girl, and Constantinos.~root~>Performer
