About the Program

Judith Norris' Blue Lodge was performed as part of ALA's Havana Gallery series and was curated by Archer Pechawis. Also known as A Little Piece of Unity, this performance is an unconventional multi-media storytelling that recorded and reflected on aspects of Norris' relationships with her horse and the community of the long-distance traditional ‘Unity Ride.’ Norris retells some of her experiences on the ride, with focus on a fall from her horse, and her temporary ‘blindness.’ Norris' ‘fall’ and its reflection of the relationships surrounding are expanded to symbolically address broader issues of damage and healing. The ALA collective is a curatorial collaboration between Adad Hannah, Lynn Hill, and Archer Pechawis.
