Artifact : Artists for Action

September 8, 1986
Multi Media Presentation

About the Program

Artifact: Artists for Action consisted of a slide show documenting eleven young women artists painting murals in three regions of Nicaragua during the month of December 1985. The Montreal-based mural group worked with the people of each community, who helped them to design and paint the murals. Artifact toured the slide show across Canada, asking the question: "Why are Canadian brigades working in Nicaragua? What can be accomplished by our going down there? What did we, as Canadian artists, accomplish and what did we learn?"
