The Ten Commandments

Exhibition

About the Program

The Ten Commandments was a new series and direction for respected West Coast artist David Neel. Over the previous two years, Neel had been relying on a number of new sources for his works on canvas. Primarily, he had been researching devotional paintings from Europe and Kwagiutl legends, creating a unique allegory that speaks on Western philosophies and First Nations spirituality. These new works used contemporary art to tell new stories. A closing event took place on January 28, 2005.
