About the Program
Joe Haag's new exhibition Our Sponsors is a continuation of his formalist works exploring land use, the corporate logo, and industrial culture. Haag makes use of shapes and forms taken from industry; silos, storage tanks, billboards, and corrugated metal, combined with images of the consumer landscape. He layers the works with both technique and meaning that build and resonate within each piece. Each individual work is built using a process which combines elements of construction, sculpture, sculptural assemblage, printmaking, photography, painting, collage, and drawing, often all together, but in very measured proportions. The resultant works are layered and evocative. The opening reception was part of SWARM.Artist
