About the Program

Anthony MacNab Favel's Spirit That Flies is a live performance implementing traditional Cree vocal arrangements. The primary principal is to introduce ancient sound tones to calm and soothe those present. Atmosphere is created through a series of changes from past to present formulas that First Nations peoples have arranged and maintained through traditional continuity with life cycles of planet Earth and the changes of the last 500 years of contact with colonialists. The contemporary fusion of blues and traditional Cree songs brings the performance to a climatic ending.
