About the Program

Stella Mere is a new sculpture by important emerging artist and educator Catherine Ross. It is constructed from hundreds of aluminum, bronze, and iron starfish, all cast in her own foundry studio from the same mould of a single found starfish. This installation, curated by influential sculptor and critic Robin Peck, is the second in his New Sculpture Series that explores the nature of sculpture at the end of the millennium.
