About the Program
In/Out is a two person exhibition bu Jamie Griffiths and Rosamond Norbury exploring the insider/outsider viewpoints of photographic portraiture. Both are self-taught as photographers and employ black and white photography as their primary medium of expression to explore queer eroticism. Both artists use the convention of portraiture to convey personal narratives and work closely with their photographic subjects to create portraits that are intimate and sensual. Griffith's approach is the insider's view, evident in her portraits is a level of intimacy and trust between the photographer and the subject(s). Norbury comes to her subjects as an outsider, whose role as the photographer allows her to participate in the worlds of gay male eroticism. ~root~>Identifier
