Paysages Inter Sites
April 15 – May 31, 1997
Exhibition, Artist Talk
About the Program
Produced by Langage Plus—a contemporary art centre in Alma, Quebec—Paysages Inter Sites was part of a longer project that included the creation of works in situ at the Metabetchouane History and Archeology Centre in Northern Quebec. The second stage was the touring exhibition that allowed artists to continue their concerns in other media. Artists Danyèle Alain, Mike MacDonald, Pascal Bouchard, Sonia Robertson, and Gilles Morissette explored the nature of "landscape" and provided insights into the history of the site as a Hudson's Bay trading post. These five artists were chosen for the diversity of their experience and because of their different approaches to the concept of art and nature. An artist talk was presented on April 24, 1997.~root~>Producer
