About the Program

Out West Performance Society and grunt gallery presented Salad Days, a one man show written and performed by David Bateman. Salad Days involves the artist—dressed in a red party dress, gloves, and a cook's hat—singing and speaking about his affluent Bay Street executive husband of 20 years, Victor. To prepare for Victor's 65th birthday, Bateman prepares sixteen salads, which are served to the audience as the monologue delves deeper into the darker sides of their relationship and the sacrifices made on the speaker's part.
