Personal Mythology

November 8 – 19, 1988
Exhibition

About the Program

Yolande Valiquette's work as a designer of interpretive exhibits for museums has influenced her highly symbolic art. Her work is suggestive of the past rising in interface with the present, each penetrating and influencing the other. Humankind has always invented myths that search for inner perfection. Amidst the seeming chaos of our real world, mythology offers us hope for a greater potential. The works in Personal Mythology draw on symbols from classical and religious mythology, inventing new symbols for modern times.
