Central Vestiges

May 17 – 28, 1988
Exhibition

About the Program

Tom Knott's Central Vestiges consisted of two series of assemblages. The larger series was concerned with arches and ladders and was displayed formally in boxes. In addition, there were free standing assemblages from a series entitled Crowtwin's Playthings, in which Knott worked less formally. Together, the two groups showed the range of Knott's work in the medium. Knott states that, "Trying to get a little closer, I keep finding vestiges of the centre in these outer things, left behind, perhaps as a sort of fluid meaning, a spiritual blood courses through this world and through us."
