About the Program

Claire Grover's Paris: A Three Year Retrospective / Visages/Invasions is a retrospective show of introspective watercolour paintings with subtle collage elements completed between 1982-1985. These years represent a personally dramatic three year period of the artist's life—where among many other things, she travelled to China, saw the end of a ten year relationship, and painted constantly. The paintings are accompanied by an account of this period presented both graphically and verbally. Claire's readings are accompanied by an original cello soundscape, created for this exhibition by Sylvaine Martin, a noted Quebec composer.
