About the Program
In Cathy McNeill's Panoramic Drawings of Toronto, her style closely aligns that which she uses in her paintings. Focusing her eye on a single point of reference she draws what she sees; not permitting her eye to wander, but drawing also what lies in her peripheral vision. Featuring details from one or more focal points, the depictions reach closer to what she sees rather than what she thinks she sees. The effect is both fascinating and chaotic.
