About the Program

This exhibition of paintings by Dennis Kulpas comes on the heels of his Basic Drives in Consumerland at Pitt International in September 1987. He explains: "The Romantic tradition asserts that beauty can provide a vehicle for the transcendence of human isolation. Out of my respect for the need to conserve this dimension of art and a personal need to give form to my own emotional tones, I have produced this collection of work."
