Creative Access Description

A colour landscape image of two large-scale studio photographs mounted on the north and west walls of a gallery space with white walls and cement floors. On the north wall is a photograph in landscape orientation depicting an Anishinaabe woman sitting semi-prone sideways on one hip on a clay-covered ground. Her clothes, a simple t-shirt and pants, have been caked with mud. She is scrubbing the ground with a clay-soaked rag and a bucket of mud sitting beside her. The photograph on the west wall is a large side-profile portrait of an Anishinaabe woman with long black hair, posing in a sumptuous cloak of crimson roses that hangs down to the floor against a dark grey background.
