Creative Access Description
A colour landscape image of multimedia works installed on the walls and on a table in a gallery space with the left wall in plain gallery white, the back wall painted yellow and the right wall painted black. On the white wall, titled “Melting Pot”, 51 photocopies of family photos, documents and book excerpts are mounted on the wall by magnets. The yellow wall, titled “Family Tapestry”, has vertical and horizontal hash marks forming a weave pattern painted all over the wall in deep pink. The right wall, painted in black and titled “Matter in Space”. The work consists of eleven laser lightjet prints, five in the frame, in a vertical orientation on premium lustre paper mounted on foam core, each featuring a portrait of a person against a dark background that allows the prints to blend into the wall. The prints are arranged in two rows, with a TV mounted on the wall nestled in between the prints on the bottom row. In the middle of the space is a table containing artifacts used by the artist as inspiration, reference, and support. These items include a compilation of books, objects, photos, art, and stim toys.
