Creative Access Description

A colour landscape image of works installed in a gallery space with a window wall entrance, a midnight blue wall, and cement floors. There are six 24-inch square tactile acrylic panels mounted on the wall. The panels have engraved pathways illuminated by coloured light against a black background mounted on a midnight blue wall. Each depicts a single effect, encapsulating the duration of the ascent, burst, and resulting movement of firework stars into a single frame. These consist of classic firework effects such as Chrysanthemum, Comets, Willow, Dahlia, Palm, and Shell of shells. To the left of the panels are didactics of the exhibition in white vinyl lettering. Mounted on the wall under each of the panels are small canisters containing an audio recording describing the panel. In the middle of the space is a light wood table with tactile items that suggest distinctive characteristics of firework movements. These include flowers, such as the chrysanthemum, dahlia, and peony, a metal sculpture, and a few other objects that depict the twisted flight path of fireworks. Peeking from behind this table is an installation of faux plants and racked mortars referencing a fireworks display on a low wooden platform.
