Shu Tabkha, Ya Mara? = What's Cooking Woman? was published for the exhibition of the same name in 2006. Curated by Zena El-Khalil and Heleh Fonouni, in collaboration with the International Museum of Women, Shu Tabkha, Ya Mara? was Xanadu's first attempt at a major art exhibition in Beirut, Lebanon. "What's cooking, woman?" is a derogatory phrase many women have grown accustomed to hearing from their spouses in the Arab world. The exhibition included 21 emerging women artists, with Lebanese roots both locally and abroad, and took place under the umbrella of the Imaging Ourselves global project.
