Intertidal: Vancouver Art and Artists
2005
On March 17, 2006 at the Belkin Satellite, the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, in association with the Antwerp Museum of Contemporary Art (MuHKA), launched Intertidal: Vancouver Art and Artists to accompany the exhibition of the same name—a major survey of contemporary art from Vancouver. The exhibition was shown at the MuHKA in Antwerp, Belgium from December 17, 2005 to February 26, 2006, and was the first major survey of works by Vancouver-based artists to be held in Europe and the largest exhibition of Canadian art held abroad since the exhibit Canada Trajectories in Paris, France, 1973. The exhibition was curated by Scott Watson and Dieter Roelstraete, and included artists Vikky Alexander, Roy Arden, Rebecca Belmore, Stan Douglas, Geoffrey Farmer, Rodney Graham, Brian Jungen, Tim Lee, Liz Magor, Scott Mcfarland, Damian Moppett, Judy Radul, Steven Shearer, Ian Wallace, and Kelly Wood. The Intertidal catalogue includes essays by Scott Watson, Dieter Roelstraete, Reid Shier, Shepherd Steiner, Monika Szewczyk, Michael Turner, Ian Wallace, and William Wood.
