Creative Access Description

A black and white landscape image of a Six Nations woman performing in a dimly lit room. She has long dark hair and is wearing a dark, long-sleeved, v-cut dress along with a white mask that obscures most of her face except for two slits for the eyes and a gap for the mouth. The mask is tied around her head and is sculpted to her face, made from paper mache, plaster or a similarly textured material. Her head is twisted to her left, her arms are thrown back beside her body, and the gap in the mask reveals her opened mouth, expressing her lines with passion. Behind her, at the bottom right corner of the frame, is a person with long hair crouching down, obscuring most of their body and face. In the background are white gallery walls, the corner of a collage-like artwork on the wall and the shadows of the room’s edge.
