Creative Access Description

A black and white portrait image of a Métis woman and a Snaw-Naw-As man standing side-by-side while performing in a dimly lit room. The woman, standing on the left, has long dark hair and wears a leather jacket with long hanging fringes, shiny skin-tight leggings, and a bandana rolled and tied as a headband around her head. Her hands are held up closely in front of her chest, palms open, as she tilts her head back and fixes her gaze to the sky. Next to her, the man wears a light-coloured t-shirt, white pants and a white mask that obscures all of his face save his mouth and chin, with two slits for his eyes. The mask is sculpted to his face, and made from paper mache, plaster or a similarly textured material. His left arm is resting in the air at a 45-degree angle with the palm open facing up while his right hand is lifted behind the woman’s back, palms open towards her. In the background is a white gallery wall and the shadows of the stage’s edge.
