Creative Access Description

Black and white portrait landscape image of a Métis woman standing with her right arm fully outstretched and all five fingers extended. She wears a black t shirt under a leather jacket with long fringe hanging from the chest open at the front and with the sleeves rolled up to her elbow. She also wears a bandana rolled and tied as a headband holding her long black hair back from her face. Her expression, illuminated by the stage lighting, is one of contemplation and longing, her gaze and outstretched arm seeming to reach for something in a dramatic moment. To her left a figure stands behind her, a Snaw-Naw-As man wearing a light coloured t shirt and a white mask that obscures all of his face save his mouth and chin, with two slits for his eyes. The mask is sculpted to his face, and made from paper mache, plaster or a similarly textured material. The man appears to look toward the same point as the woman. In the background are the white walls of the gallery and the shadows of the stage's edge.
