Creative Access Description

A black and white portrait oriented image of a work of performance art. Taking up most of the frame, a performer, wearing a white lacy veil and an oversized headpiece built of paper mache to look like the artist Diego Rivera, sits on a low metal scaffolding facing a white gallery wall. The head is comical in its proportion to the performer's body, appearing top heavy and prone to imbalance. The performers right leg is extended outward to touch the wall, while his left leg dangles from the scaffolding in the act of removing a black robe he was previously wearing. Members of the audience stand behind and obscured by the scaffolding, one of whom raises a point and shoot camera to their eye to document the performance.
