Creative Access Description

A black and white portrait oriented image of a work of performance art. Taking up most of the frame, a performer, dressed in black robes with wide sleeves and wearing an oversized headpiece built of paper mache to look like the artist Diego Rivera, sits on a low metal scaffolding next to a white gallery wall. The head is comical in its proportion to the performer's body, appearing top heavy and prone to imbalance. The performer holds a paint brush to the cheek of the headpiece, his outstretched fingers creating an effect of surprise that is reinforced by the open mouth and goggly eyes of the headpiece. The performers legs splay out from beneath his robes, hanging haphazardly off the scaffolding next to a dripping container of spilled paint adding to the chaotic mood of the scene.
