Creative Access Description

Two walls of Violet Room are covered in large panels featuring groups of painted figures against a light purple background. They are dressed in eighteenth-century court dress in shades of blues, purples, pinks, and greens. The voluminous Rococo pannier skirts have bows, ruffles, and pink roses throughout them. All the figures have large white pouf hairstyles also decorated with pink roses. The painted figures hold sticks on which three dimensional ceramic masks by Stan Lake are hung. The masks are ornate and feature lots of gold. The central open area of the room has five square black ionic columns rising from the concrete floor to sections of faux black rocks. The rock sections extend towards the ceiling, which is beige and has exposed beams.
