Black and white landscape image of a white woman sitting with her legs crossed in a metal folding chair at a small table. The woman has her hair tied back and wears a black shirt, black pants, black socks, and white sneakers. With her arms at her sides and both of her elbows bent, she holds both of her forearms up, palms and fingers outstretched. Her head is tilted slightly back, her eyes closed, and her lips in the shape of an 'O' as if singing or reminiscing. Her chair and table are positioned in the corner of a gallery space, which has been decorated with a dense cluster posters, handbills, newspaper clippings, and pictures. The text of many is too small to be readable, but notable among them are three instances of a poster that reads 'Join the rent strike' in heavy, block capital lettering. Additional papers lie on the floor by the woman's foot. The table is also decorated with posters and newspaper clippings, as is a mini fridge that sits in the foreground to the right side of the frame. On top of the fridge is a toaster oven, and hanging above are several clotheslines with more posters suspended with clothespins, their shadows crisscrossing the walls of the space. To the left side of the frame a bouquet of tall closely clustered flower buds, foxgloves or similar, sits behind the legs and arms of the front row of audience members.Description
