Creative Access Description

Black and white landscapte oriented image of a Cree-Saulteaux woman drumming. The woman is situated with her back to the camera, facing a small television seated on a plinth next to the wall. She has short black hair and wears a sleeveless white button up shirt and dark coloured cycling shorts, dark coloured socks and shoes. In her left hand she holds a circular skin drum close to her body at chest height. She stands on a rectangular piece of cloth held down by small stones in two rows on either side of her feet. Dozens of pill bottles are arranged on the floor, along with a candle which casts a bright glow at the edge of the shadows. Behind the candle a person stands in the shadows at a tripod, video documenting the performance.
