Creative Access Description

Colour landscape image of a Nehiyaw Isko woman performing in front of a large projection. The image is cropped to show the woman from the chest up at the bottom of the frame. She is wrapped in a shawl made from hundreds of bepsi (soda) can pull tabs woven together with long nylon streamers in bands of light blue, pink, orange, lavender, and white. The shawl is drawn together completely obscuring her body and head but for the front of her face, which wears a pensive expression. Her forehead is decorated with a dense cluster of shiny pink beads and her makeup consists of blue eyeshadow and strong dark lines above and below her eyes as well as a vertical line down the centre of her lips and chin. The projection behind her is a dark and blurry image of her floating on her back, the water currents pulling at her see-through gown to give an ethereal effect.
