Creative Access Description

Colour landscape image of a Nehiyaw Isko woman performing next to a standing mirror. The woman stands in the right side of the frame, and leans in close, touching the mirror with her left hand in an apparent moment of connection with her own reflection. She wears sparkly pink shorts with a green-blue pattern and has six sequinned barettes, three on either side of her head, holding back her long golden brown hair. Draped over her head and shoulders and extending down her arms to her hands is a shawl made from hundreds of bepsi (soda) can pull tabs woven together with long nylon streamers in bands of light blue, pink, orange, lavender, and white. Her forehead is decorated with a dense cluster of shiny pink beads and her makeup consists of blue eyeshadow and strong dark lines above and below her eyes as well as a vertical line down the centre of her lips and chin. Another standing mirror is arranged behind her in the otherwise dark room.
