Creative Access Description

Colour landscape image of a Nehiyaw Isko woman performing in front of a large projection, cropped to show her from the chest up. Draped over her head and shoulders and extending down her arms is a shawl made from hundreds of bepsi (soda) can pull tabs woven together with long nylon streamers in bands of light blue, pink, orange, lavender, and white. She pulls the corners of shawl together at her chest, framing her face and obscuring her body underneath. Her forehead is decorated with a dense cluster of shiny pink beads and her makeup consists of blue eyeshadow and strong dark lines above and below her eyes as well as a vertical line down the centre of her lips and chin, her eyes give a knowing look. The image projected behind her is a video of her performing in the same costume, standing in front of a body of water with her face tucked into the bepsi shawl,  the streamers hanging over her form in a long fringe. Her golden brown hair is held by a series of sequinned pink and white barettes. Also behind her to her right is the upper corner of a rectangular standing mirror reflecting the mostly dark room, with some of the shawl in the bottom left corner.
