Creative Access Description
Colour landscape image of a Bundjulung and Ngapuhi woman dancing under a spotlight.. She wears loose fitting black slacks, a black bra, grey running shoes, and white socks. Her long black hair is tied back. She stands at centre stage facing profile with respect to the camera. Her right arm is fully extended outward at shoulder level, fingers together and palm flat. Her left arm extends out at shoulder level with her elbow bent at ninety degrees and her palm open to her forehead. Behind her on the floor is a discarded white button up shirt. In the foreground are shadowy forms of audience members seated on either side of a central aisle. In the background, a black curtain at the back of the stage is partially open, revealing a storage area with equipment and furnishings, as well as a movable stage wall on which is displayed a black and white photograph of a stone wall with the phrase 'tout est politique' written on it. Above the dancer a grid of stage lights hangs from the ceiling.Description
