Creative Access Description

A colour landscape image of work mounted on a sandy brown wall. There are three laminated posters, the middle poster features a picture of a Black man in military uniform standing with his right arm bandaged while leaning his body on his left leg which is placed on a red bar stool. The posters to the left and right of this consist of photos taken inside of a locker featuring photos of attractive Black women, some with afros others naked, a newspaper clipping of Miss Black America and a photo of Martin Luther King on a freedom march. Hung above the posters are four small wooden crosses with another one hung right under the poster in the middle. The crosses are painted green with a copper star at the end of each four corners along with individual soldier action figures in various stages of the battle in the centre of each cross. On either side of the cross below the posters are framed letters describing the absurdity of war. Behind each page of the letter are images including a map and a person in military uniform printed in blue, and black illustrations of a gun and stylized text, making up the background of each frame.
