Creative Access Description
A colour landscape image of framed works mounted on a sandy brown wall. There are three framed black and white portraits of a Black man in military uniform wearing black framed glasses. The middle frame is larger and is placed between two smaller frames. The work inside contains the portrait surrounded by a yellow texture and a red outline placed against a sandy brown background. The phrase “WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT” is stitched on top of the portrait in a black serif font. The two smaller frames contain photo-transfers on white felt, overlaid with machine embroidery. The portrait photo transfer has a green background with the same phrase “WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT” stitched on top in a white serif font. On all three portraits, there are red markings outlining the shape of the frame and surrounding elements.Description
