Creative Access Description
Colour landscape image showing a photo college made up of eight printed photos in portrait orientation, arranged in two rows of four images, mounted on a white wall. The images show a variety of detail views of the totem poles of Anspayaxw (Anspaiox) / Kispiox, a Gitxsan community at the confluence of the Kispiox and Skeena Rivers. The poles are unpainted and weathered greyish brown wood with carved figures of birds and other animal forms along with human forms in various poses. In some of the images metal reinforcing brackets and bands are present. The poles are backgrounded by the surrounding field, forest, mountains, and sky. Faint text reading 'Anspaiox '87 M MacDonald' is handwritten in the bottom left corner of the piece. ~root~>Description
