Creative Access Description

Colour landscape image showing a photo college made up of eight printed photos in portrait orientation, arranged in two rows of four images, mounted on a white wall. The images show a variety of installation and detail views of the totem poles of Gitwangak Village, a Gitxsan community on the Skeena River. The poles are unpainted and weathered greyish brown wood with carved figures of eagles, bears, faces, humans, and other forms and are set against the backdrop of the sky, mountains, forests, and fields in the immediate vicinity. One image shows a cluster of at least seven poles. Faint text reading 'Gitwangak '87 M MacDonald' is handwritten in the bottom left corner of the piece.
