Biography

Marie Annharte Baker is an Anishinabe poet, activist, and essayist. Hailing from the Little Saskatchewan First Nation and Winnipeg, she depicts the rarely portrayed urban Indigenous experience. She is the author of the poetry collections Being on the Moon (1990), Coyote Columbus Café (1994), Exercises in Lip Pointing (2003), Indigena Awry (2013), Miskwagoode (2022), and the essay collection AKA Inendagosekwe (2013).
