Artist, Educator, Researcher, WriterBiography
Peter Conlin is a writer, researcher, and lecturer. His research is interdisciplinary, across across media studies, cultural studies, and visual culture—currently focused on issues related to time: the political imaginations of the future in the context of 21st century media environments; the ephemerality of digital media and obsolescence; and affective experience in accelerated culture (boredom, attention, and distraction in the context of networked digital media). He has also researched how artists and activists experiment with collective organizational forms. Conlin holds an MA from Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts, a PhD from the Humanities Program at Concordia University, and completed a postdoctorate at Academia Sinica in Taipei. He currently teaches at the University of Nottingham.Adapted from Academia, 2024~root~>
