Niilas Helander (b. 1983) is a Sámi artist and writer who lives in Berlin and Athens. He works with installation, photography, performance, and poetry, and takes up themes within Sámi philosophy, tradition, and history, and connects them with global themes such as the climate crisis and the refugee crisis. In 2022, he contributed to the book Nomadetekst, which was edited by Maja Hammarén and published by Kunsthall Oslo in connection with Helander's exhibition No Demands.Oslo International Poetry Festival, 2023
