Biography

Evan Ducharme provides a wardrobe of separates, outerwear, and evening wear for the customer who demands authenticity in every aspect of their life. With the look of “heightened utilitarianism” that has become Ducharme’s signature, Metis iconography is woven throughout to create an image of contemporary Indigenous fashion. Evan Ducharme is a Metis artist with ancestral ties to the Cree, Ojibwe, and Saulteaux peoples, and is from the historic Metis community of St. Ambroise, Manitoba (Treaty 1 Territory). His work explores Metis identity and it’s cultural iconography, with particular focus on creating images of contemporary Indigeneity, reclamation of Indigenous sexualities, and a commitment to environmentally conscious practices. Evan is also a co-host of the bi-weekly Fashion Hags podcast. His work has been featured in Discorder Magazine, National Geographic, FASHION Magazine, and Vogue.com.
