Biography

Kenneth Fletcher (1954 - 1978) was an artist and member of the Mainstreeters art “gang,” with Paul Wong up until his death in 1978. Fletcher attended Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School where he met other members of the Mainstreeters including Wong, Deborah Fong, Jeanette Reinhardt, Charles Rea, and Annastacia McDonald. Fletcher was employed at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Stadium Gallery and Satellite program. Fletcher, throughout his career, ran art-related events such as the Mainstreeters Drag Balls. Fletcher was primarily a visual artist who also created a number of solo video works and many collaborations with Paul Wong including Murder Research (1977), 60 Unit; Bruise (1976), 50/50 (1976), etc.
